Today’s show is the third of a multi-part series of programs on the Bluesville label. This installment focuses on several superb, lesser known artists who hadn’t previously recorded or who had recorded sparingly.

In some ways this may be the most interesting entry as we spotlight several excellent, late catalog records from the label; Producer Art Rosenbaum produced fine records by Indianapolis artists Brooks Berry, Scrapper Blackwell, Shirley Griffith, J.T. Adams and Pete Franklin. Mack McCormick and Chris Strachwitz produced the sole record by Robert Curtis Smith, Harry Oster recorded the great down-home bluesman Smoky Babe in Louisiana and Pete Welding recorded the fine Philadelphia artist Doug Quattlebaum, for the label. Several of today’s featured records have never made it to CD.
